Sen. Ted Cruz speaks in Llano County after viewing flood damage

As of Wednesday, at least one person has died due to the Llano County flooding and it is unclear just how many people have been displaced.

LLANO COUNTY, Texas — Sen. Ted Cruz traveled to Kingsland, Texas, Wednesday afternoon to visit with those affected by the recent flood that has impacted Central Texas.

During a press conference, Cruz and other officials spoke about how the flooding impacted the surrounding community.

"Llano County, Burnet County, they're hurting," said Cruz. "When Texas faces disaster, Texans come together."

Cruz said that as the community moves forward, Texas is in good hands of local leaders and first responders.

"Texas has experience with natural disasters and it's one of the great strengths that local leaders and first responders have because they know what they're doing," Cruz added.
