Ribbon cutting ceremony held for 23-acre development to help La Grange flood victims

The development -- which will be called Hope Hills -- will include about 75 homes, a park and a community building.

LA GRANGE — A ribbon cutting ceremony held Saturday marked the beginning of a 23-acre project for La Grange flood victims.

The project development plans to use the land purchased by the Fayette County Disaster Recovery Team to build homes for dozens of victims in La Grange.

Officials said the next step in the project is to begin working on the infrastructure such as roads, water and drainage but they hope to start building homes later this summer.

Kenny Couch, Executive Director of the Fayette County Disaster Recovery Team, told KVUE they will need volunteers to help build the homes.

The development -- which will be called Hope Hills -- will include about 75 homes, a park and a community building.
