Pedestrian killed in South Austin I-35 collision identified

According to Austin police, the crash happened on the 12000 block of southbound I-35 just before 6 a.m.

AUSTIN, Texas — Austin police have identified a pedestrian killed in a South Austin collision early Monday morning. Police said Cecil Wade Walker, 49, died on scene,

According to Austin police, the crash happened on the 12000 block of southbound Interstate Highway 35 just before 6 a.m.

Based on preliminary investigation, police said a 2002 silver Mercedes was traveling southbound on the highway when it struck Walker. The driver remained on scene. Charges are not expected at this time.
