'Now all the soldiers aren't forgotten' | George P. Bush gives Cedar Park boy a special shoutout

After Remmer Machamer of Cedar Park raised $2,200 for Wreaths Across America, he got a special shoutout from Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush.

AUSTIN — Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush gave a special shoutout to a Cedar Park boy on Twitter on Monday for his work in honoring veterans.

"Great to meet Remmer Machamer from Cedar Park, Texas this morning," tweeted Bush. "He has raised over $2,200 going door to door for @wreathsacross to help honor our Veterans."

Bush was referencing Wreaths Across America, an organization that aims to honor and remember veterans by laying wreaths on their graves each and every year.

"Now all the soldiers aren't forgotten," said Machamer.

Bush added that he is "constantly inspired" by this next generation of young Texans.

With a mission to remember, honor and teach, every December on National Wreaths Across America Day, organizers coordinate wreath-laying ceremonies at the Arlington National Cemetery, as well as more than 1,400 locations across the U.S., at sea and abroad.

Wreaths Across America Day is observed on the third Saturday in December. This year, that will be Dec. 15.
