Sheriff's office identifies body found in Llano River near Kingsland Slab

The Llano County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident.

KINGSLAND, Texas -- A man's body was found in the Llano River near the Kingsland Slab, according to the Llano County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said a man reported seeing the body of a man, identified by the sheriff's office as Jarod Lee Layton, 38, in the Llano River just before 4:20 p.m. Sunday, May 27.

An area game warden and the Llano Fire Department took the man out of the water.

Investigators said they spoke with several witnesses at the scene and noted that there wasn't any apparent trauma to Layton's body.

Investigators are waiting on autopsy results to determine the cause of death for Layton.
