Man arrested in connection to shooting death of 17-year-old

An arrest has been made after a 17-year-old was shot to death in Fayette County, according to the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.

An arrest has been made after a 17-year-old was shot to death in Fayette County, according to the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.

FCSO said that dispatchers received a call around 8:30 p.m. on Monday, May 15, reporting that a 17-year-old male had been accidentally shot and was not breathing. Deputies and medics responded to a residence on Albers Road, in the Waldeck area of Fayette County.

The Texas Rangers were contacted to help with the investigation. After gathering information on the shooting, investigators determined that criminal charges did exist and issued an arrest warrant for Eduardo Hernandez, 22, of San Antonio.

Hernandez was charged with Manslaughter and booked into the Dan R. Beck Justice Center where he is being held on a $100,000 bond.

The case remains under investigation by the FCSO and the Texas Rangers.
