AUSTIN -- The KVUE Wish Warriors raised more than $12,000 during the 2018 Austin Over the Edge campaign for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, adding to a total of over $500,000 raised this year.

Better yet, all that money is going to a foundation that will help grant wishes for more than 100 local children with critical illnesses.

This year, the KVUE Wish Warriors -- who rappelled down 600 Congress from 32 stories -- consisted of: President and General Manager Kristie Gonzales; Anchor Mike Rush; Sports Anchor and Reporter Shawn Clynch; Marketing Producer/Editor Tecia Coton; and Sales Manager Amy Coplen.

Over The Edge 2018 took place on June 9 and 10.

Every year, over The Edge gives the first 200 individuals who raise a minimum of $1,500 the opportunity to rappel. If you don’t want to rappel by yourself, you're allowed to form a team with your co-workers or friends. In addition, sponsorship opportunities are available and listed on the website at\sponsors.

If you have any questions about the event, please contact Courtney Gremillion at the Make-A-Wish office at 512-329-9474, ext. 103, or by email at

Last year, thanks to the tremendous support from all 200 Edgers, as well as sponsors, in-kind supporters and volunteers, over $650,000 was raised to grant the wishes of 130 local children with critical illnesses in Central and South Texas.
