Kendra Scott’s new bracelet benefits foundation honoring Austin student murdered overseas

Jewelry designer Kendra Scott said she's partnered with Bakari Henderson's parents to create a bracelet-- raising money for the foundation named in his honor.

An Austin entrepreneur is using her brand to help the family of an Austin man who was killed overseas.

Bakari Henderson, 22, had just graduated from college when he was beaten to death outside a Greek nightclub last year.

The attack was caught on camera, and Henderson's mother said she believes he was targeted- because of his race.

Jewelry designer Kendra Scott said she's partnered with Bakari Henderson's parents to create a bracelet-- raising money for the foundation named in his honor.

"Turn our pain into some purpose because we weren't really sure what we were going to do with all the built-up frustration and anger and just disappointment of the loss," said Jill Henderson, Bakari Henderson's mother.

Twenty percent of purchases made at the store went to the Bakari Foundation- which helps families who are victims of violence.

The murder trial for Bakari's accused killers is set for Sept. 21.
