Helicopters flew over Austin Thursday in preparation for Overton funeral

Fort Hood media relations confirmed to KVUE on Thursday that the Apache helicopters seen flying around Austin Thursday were practicing to be a part of decorated war veteran Richard Overton's funeral this weekend.

AUSTIN, Texas — If you were outside in Austin this weekend you may have noticed the helicopters flying around downtown. According to Fort Hood media relations, there is no need to worry.

The helicopters seen downtown were practicing to be a part of decorated war veteran Richard Overton's funeral on Saturday.
