Silver Alert discontinued for San Marcos man with dementia

Police in San Marcos is searching for a missing elderly man.

SAN MARCOS, Texas — UPDATE: The Silver Alert has been discontinued and police said the man is safe.

ORIGINAL STORY: An elderly man with dementia who was last seen leaving a San Marcos medical facility is missing, police said.

Laurance Franklin Ray, 93, was last seen at Central Texas Medical Center at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Police said he left the center against the advice of the staffers and after he had an argument with family.

Police said Ray left in a four-door, gold 2007 Pontiac with a Texas license plate that read, "FTR5875."

He is described as being 5 feet 4 inches and weighing 122 pounds. He has white hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing khaki pants and a blue, plaid long-sleeved shirt. He wears silver wire-rimmed glasses. He does not own a cell phone.
