BASTROP COUNTY, Texas — H-E-B made a special delivery to the Bastrop Animal Control Shelter after it experienced flooding that caused around $50,000 in damages.

The Texas grocery store chain delivered more than 1,300 pounds of animal food and about $2,000 worth of litter. Additionally, they wrote the shelter a $5,000 check to help them recover from the flood, which occurred in June.

Employees came to the shelter on Saturday, June 9, to discover a drinking fountain had malfunctioned. The waters affected the entire shelter, including its surgery room. It also caused a number of animals to be displaced.
