Free fishin': Where you can drop a line at no cost this Saturday

Get ready to grab your fishing hooks.

The first weekend of June kicks off National Fishing and Boating week, and Texas is celebrating by offering free fishing --meaning license-free fishing -- on any body of water in the state on Saturday, June 2, according to the Texas Parks and Wildlife.

Here's a list of freshwater lakes and bodies of water in the Hill Country region:

-Lake Austin

-Brady Creek Reservoir

-Lake Brownwood

-Lake Bastrop

-Walter E. Long Lake

-Lady Bird Lake

-Lake Travis

-Lake Georgetown

-Granger Lake

-Canyon Lake

-Marble Falls

-Lake Lyndon B. Johnson

-Inks Lake

-Lake Buchanan

-Medina Lake

-Lake Gonzales

-Lake Wood

Make note that you don't have to have a fishing license to fish in Texas state parks if you have a park pass. According to Texas Parks and Wildlife, it gets you unlimited free entry to more than 90 Texas state parks for you and your guests for a year. They're $70 per person. GO HERE for more information.
