Liberty Hill church hopes to rebuild after fire's destruction

The pastor told KVUE he isn't sure how the fire started but said they will still have services Sunday.

LIBERTY HILL, Texas — A fire at Cross Tracks Church and Sonshine Friends Preschool in Liberty Hill has destroyed the property's Fellowship Hall.

"It can be emotionally wrenching to see where your children spend a good portion of their time on fire," said Pastor John Saint.

According to KVUE's Terri Gruca, who was on the scene on Saturday afternoon, 46 pre-K students attend Sonshine Friends Preschool. This was also the church office.

Pastor Saint told KVUE he isn't sure how the fire started. He said they are grateful no one was inside the building.

"I'm glad it didn't happen on a school day or there would have been more than a hundred people in the building," he said.

Sunday’s service will now be held at the Liberty Hill ISD administration building on Forrest Street, two blocks away from the church, at 11 a.m.

The will now start evaluating the damages, and they hope to rebuild a new campus by the end of next year.
