Downtown Austin death not suspicious, APD says

Police have identified a woman whose body was found in downtown Austin over the weekend.

AUSTIN, Texas — Police have identified a woman whose body was found in downtown Austin over the weekend.

Police were called around 4:19 a.m. on Saturday after Queen C. Benson, 23, was found lying on the sidewalk unresponsive on Sixth Street near Brazos.

Benson died on the scene at around 4:45 a.m.

Homicide detectives were on the scene and talked to witnesses.

Police said Benson had fallen off a building and the death is not suspicious.

The Medical Examiner has conducted an autopsy and is awaiting toxicology results.
