Burnet school bus reportedly rolls over following crash; no students seriously injured

Burnet officials believe the school bus was hit from behind before it rolled over.

BURNET, Texas — No students received serious injuries Monday morning after a school bus in Burnet rolled onto its side following a collision, officials said.

According to officials, Bus 101 with Burnet Consolidated Independent School District was hit from behind while traveling on Highway 29 near Burnet Hill Drive shortly after 7 a.m. The Burnet police chief told KVUE that the bus was hit as it was starting to turn left. The vehicle hit the bus from behind, causing it to flip, the police chief said.

Three students and two adults were on board. The Burnet police chief said the students had minor injures and were taken to a hospital. The school bus monitor was taken to a hospital with a shoulder injury, the district said.

The driver of the truck that hit the bus was not injured and stayed on the scene.

Police said that they are investigating the crash.
