Burleson Co. pipeline explosion, fire seen for miles

The glow from a pipeline explosion and fire Wednesday morning in Burleson County has been seen from at least 12 miles away.

BURLESON COUNTY, Texas – A Wednesday morning pipeline explosion and fire has been contained, but residents in two counties reported seeing the glow from the fire.

The fire, burning along County Road 132 around two miles north of Middle Yegua Creek, was reported around 3 a.m. Dec. 12. Frank Smith with the Giddings Times and News shared images and video with KVUE, showing the flames reaching high into the air.

The glow from the fire was visible at least 12 miles from the scene, and no injuries have been reported.

Officials say the fire is contained, but they need to let the gas burn off.
