Missing Austin man, 79, safe after returning home

Martin "Earl" Beaty was reported missing early New Year's Day in northwest Austin.

AUSTIN, Texas — A missing elderly man has returned home and is safe, the Austin Police Department said Jan. 2.

The APD previously said Martin "Earl" Beaty, 79, was reported missing on Jan. 1, 2020, at 3 a.m. 

Beaty returned home on Jan. 1 and is safe, the APD said on Jan. 2.

He was last seen leaving his residence in the 10300 block of Morado Cove. He is believed to be driving a silver, 2007 Nissan Frontier pickup truck with a matching silver camper top, license plate number BV2-1619.
