1 dead, 1 injured after shooting in southeast Austin

Police say the call came in at around 2:11 a.m. Wednesday from Elm Creek Drive, just south of William Cannon Drive.

AUSTIN, Texas — One person is dead and another is injured after a shooting in southeast Austin early Wednesday morning.

The Austin Police Department said a call came in at around 2:11 a.m. Wednesday for an incident at the North Bluff Estates Manufactured Home Community in the 6600 block of Elm Creek Drive, just south of William Cannon Drive.

Police said officers found one person who had been shot in the head and another who had been shot in the neck. The first person was pronounced dead, but the condition of the second person is unknown at this time.

Because the investigation is in its early stages, APD said investigators have not determined a motive or suspect information.
