Airbnb offering free housing to Central Texas flood evacuees

Airbnb is offering free temporary housing to people affected by the recent flooding in Central Texas.

CENTRAL TEXAS — The flood waters that have entered the Central Texas area after heavy rainfall have displaced many and taken the life of one victim so far.

Towns along the Llano and Colorado rivers such as Llano, Kingsland and Marble Falls were hugely impacted, with hundreds of people forced to evacuate their homes.

In order to help those displaced, Airbnb is offering free temporary housing to help Central Texas flood evacuees.

Where you can get help after the Central Texas floods

The "Open Homes" program allows evacuees, emergency relief workers and volunteers to find free temporary accommodations with hosts who have agreed to participate. This is the same program activated in 2017 to support Texans in connection with Hurricane Harvey.

The $0 listings are available now through Nov. 8.
