AUSTIN — Life is anything but ruff in Austin, Texas.

While seemingly every bar and restaurant in Austin is dog-friendly, there are a handful of spots that outshine the rest. Where are your favorite places in Austin to hang out with your pup? Tell us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram!

"Barking Springs"

At Barton Springs Pool, there is a strict no-dog policy. Just beyond the fencing of Barton Springs Pool however, the water runs off into Barton Creek. The spot is lovingly called "Barking Springs" because dogs are allowed.

Bull Creek

Bull Creek, a 48-acre park in northwest Austin, is named after a stream that passes through, making it the perfect spot for swimming, hiking and fishing with your four-legged friend.

Red Bud Isle Park

Nestled in West Lake Hills, Red Bud Isle Park is the perfect Austin park for you and your dog if you're looking for something a little less difficult to navigate than Zilker Park. You can also lug your canoe or kayak to this spot.

Yard Bar

Good food, good dogs and good beer. Sounds like the perfect combination to us. Not only is Yard Bar a dog friendly bar, it has an off-leash dog park. While most bars have bouncers, Yard Bar has "bark rangers" to make sure the pups are playing safely. Before you take your pup to this spot, make sure you read their dog park rules. There are a lot.

Zilker Park

This sprawling park is so dog-friendly, there's an Instagram account just for the dogs of Zilker Park, "zilkerbark." There is plenty of grass for frolicking, plus the park sits right next to Lady Bird Lake for water-loving pups.
