WESTLAKE, Texas — A school board seat up for grabs in the Eanes school district might not sound very interesting at first, but wait until you find out who's gunning for it.

He hasn't even graduated from high school himself, but 18-year-old McKennon Rice, a Westlake High School senior, turned in his application on Friday, but it had to go up to the Secretary of State's office to check eligibility.

On Tuesday, Rice found out he can indeed run in the election on May 4.

Westlake High School is a part of Eanes ISD.
