Round Rock HS students learning how to fix, repair cars in automotive class

The great thing about this program is that the students not only learn how to fix the cars, but also repair them.

ROUND ROCK, Texas — The Round Rock High School Automotive Tech Department has grown into one of the best in Central Texas.

The department has 135 students for the 2019 school year in four classes ranging from beginners to more advanced.

The great thing about this program is that the students not only learn how to fix the cars, but also repair them. The jobs include everything from oil changes and tire rotations to brake jobs and alignment.

The students can do pretty much anything except engine rebuilds. The teachers are experienced technicians themselves and they run the department like an auto shop, complete with a parts department.

These students are not all going to work in the automotive industry when they graduate from high school, but they will have the knowledge to keep their vehicles running.
