Drew Brees' championship dreams continue, Foles has decisions to make

"Ultimately, we'll make the best decision for both sides and we'll figure it out," said Saints QB Drew Brees.

AUSTIN, Texas — One playoff game resulted in one former Westlake High School quarterback experiencing the thrill of victory, and the other the agony of defeat.

"If you do things the right way long enough, good things are going to happen," said New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees.

"It's not about the wins and losses, it's about the relationships," said Philadelphia quarterback Nick Foles.

These two Super Bowl MVP quarterbacks bonded by Westlake High School are headed into opposite directions this week.

Drew Brees will be playing for a conference championship after rallying back to beat Foles and the Eagles Sunday afternoon.

"Certainly very appreciative. Love the opportunity that we have to play that game here," said Brees.

The Saints will host the L.A. Rams, the winner clinches a spot in the Super Bowl.

Meanwhile, Foles has some decisions on the horizon.

Here's the business side of it all for Foles:

The Eagles have the right to pick up or decline a $20 million option to keep Foles on the roster for 2019. Keep him on the roster and trade him, or Foles can purchase his way out of the contract for $2 million to become a free agent.

"Ultimately, we'll make the best decision for both sides and we'll figure it out," said Foles. "That's what it's always been about here in Philly. So, it will work out."

Foles and the Eagles will have until the week after the Super Bowl to work things out or Foles may become a starter for a different NFL franchise.
