Austin ISD police chief: Juvenile charged after posting false threats about McCallum High School

Earlier this week, Austin ISD police arrested and charged an 18-year-old with terroristic threat.

AUSTIN, Texas — Friday afternoon, Austin ISD Police Chief Ashley Gonzalez said AISD police have charged a juvenile with terroristic threat and false alarm/report as a result of their posting false social media threats about McCallum High School.

On Wednesday, 18-year-old Antonio Wicks was arrested and charged with terroristic threat after he allegedly made serious verbal and written threats to cause harm at McCallum.

AISD police located and arrested Wicks before classes began Wednesday morning.

Wednesday night, Chief Gonzalez said McCallum received additional threats on social media after Wicks's arrest.

Chief Gonzalez said Thursday that none of those postings appeared to be credible.

AISD said Friday that the threat the juvenile was arrested for is a separate threat than those made on Wednesday.
