Five new buildings will soon go up in Downtown Austin

Austin Towers created renderings that show how tall each building will be.

AUSTIN, Texas — Five new high rises will soon change the Austin skyline as we know it.

Austin Towers created renderings that show how tall each building will be, even though we don't know exactly what they'll look like yet.

One of the buildings is the recently-finished Independent, which is the tallest building in Austin at 690 feet tall. That's 58 stories high.

But, according to Austin Towers, two bigger towers are going to surpass it: The Republic, at 708 feet or 46 stories; and 6 x Guadalupe, at 848 feet or 65 stories.

No matter how you approach downtown, you'll see the change in the skyline when these five towers are done.
