AUSTIN, Texas — We now know when developers hope to complete a very hot condominium project in South Austin, according to a report from the Austin Business Journal (ABJ).
The Station at St. Elmo project notably sold out all of its units in just five hours last May. The ABJ reports that construction on the project began in November, several months after the initially expected start date. Developers reportedly spent months adjusting the design after the intense buyer interest.
The ABJ reports that Legacy Multi-Home Construction Services LLC, or Legacy MCS, is the builder of the project, which will be located at 4510 Terry-O Lane. The project is being led by Legacy Design and Construction Services LLC (Legacy DCS), Legacy International and Legacy Performance Capital, all Austin-based companies. Mark Odom and Kelly Grossman are the architects for the project. Brewer Design Studios will do interior design.
Philip Jalufka, president of Legacy Performance Capital and Legacy International, told the ABJ that after the condos sold out so quickly, the team made additional improvements to the overall schematics and the building itself, "especially the common area and lifestyle elements."
Jalufka told the ABJ that after a two- to three-month contracting process, the team "hit the ground running" on the project's construction. The developers expect to finish by July 2023.
The ABJ reports that The Station at St. Elmo, which will sit on approximately three acres, will consist of two residential buildings with 136 condos and townhomes priced in the mid-$200,000 range and up. The units will be between 652 and 2,092 square feet.
The developers behind the project are already in the planning stage for a "Station II" development.
