New 500-plus home development planned near southwest Austin

The Parten master-planned community will be located just south of Nutty Brown Road on Ranch Road 1826.

AUSTIN, Texas — Plans for more Central Texas housing are in the works. Developers are hoping to build up to 575 new homes just outside of southwest Austin.

The Parten master-planned community will be located just south of Nutty Brown Road on Ranch Road 1826. Home prices will start in the $400,000 range and go up to the $800,000 range.

Parten boasts proximity to The Salt Lick, Solaro Estate Winery, Duchman Family Winery, Driftwood Estate Winery, an H-E-B, Alamo Drafthouse and more. Families in the neighborhood will be served by Dripping Springs ISD.

Amenities will include miles of walking and hiking trails, open recreational fields, a stream for fishing, a swimming pool and more.
