H-E-B opens new e-commerce fulfillment center in Leander

The company will hold a virtual career fair with on-the-spot interviews on July 27.

LEANDER, Texas — A new H-E-B e-commerce fulfillment center in Leander is expected to bring a range of new jobs to the area and help support the rising demand of online shopping.

On Wednesday, the Texas supermarket chain said the facility is now open at 651 N. US Hwy. 183.

H-E-B said the project will help provide a more convenient and better shopping experience for Texans. The 50,000-square-foot facility will support H-E-B curbside and home delivery orders throughout Leander and surrounding cities in Central Texas.

The e-commerce fulfillment centers stock goods found in stores, which are used to satisfy curbside and home delivery orders. The facilities allow for more capacity, greater efficiency, less aisle congestion for the in-store shopper and better product availability, H-E-B said.

“At H-E-B, we’re always looking for ways to offer Texans a better shopping experience and more options to choose how they shop, pay for and receive their products,” said Kedar Patel, H-E-B vice president of e-commerce. “Across our business, we are adopting innovative technologies that give our Partners the tools they need to provide top-quality service to our customers whether they shop online or in our stores.”

The company is actively hiring for a range of full-time and part-time positions at the Leander e-commerce fulfillment center and will hold a virtual career fair with on-the-spot interviews on July 27. Those interested can sign up online here.

The Leander facility marks H-E-B’s fifth e-commerce fulfillment center the company has opened since 2018. By the end of next year, H-E-B looks to open additional facilities across the state, including in Plano to help support the retailer’s expansion into the DFW Metroplex.
