Report: Homebuilder partnering with Elon Musk company to build homes in Bastrop County

More than 100 homes are reportedly planned for the subdivision, which would house employees of The Boring Company.

BASTROP COUNTY, Texas — Lennar Corp., one of the nation's largest homebuilders, appears to have partnered with Tesla and Twitter CEO Elon Musk to build housing in Bastrop County for employees of The Boring Company

That's according to a report from the Austin Business Journal (ABJ).

In the report, Bastrop County Commissioner Mel Hamner announced that Lennar Crop. is working with Pflugerville-based The Boring Company to build a 110-home subdivision off of FM 1209 near FM 969.

The ABJ reports that Hamner revealed the connection during a Jan. 23 commissioners court meeting, while discussing the proposed subdivision, which ABJ says is codenamed "Project Amazing."

"The Boring Company is working with Lennar to build this housing subdivision to support the workers there," Hamner reportedly said during the meeting.

Additional informational about the project is limited. The ABJ said representatives for The Boring Company did not respond to a request for comment, and a spokesperson for Lennar declined to comment.
