Popular South Lamar bar Bouldin Acres expanding to North Austin

The new bar will be located about a mile away from Q2 Stadium.

AUSTIN, Texas — A popular indoor-outdoor bar is expanding to North Austin, bringing pickleball, specialty drinks and a dog park to West Braker Lane.

According to a report from the Austin Business Journal (ABJ), Bouldin Acres started construction for its second location at 1806 W. Braker Lane this summer. The new bar will be located about a mile away from Q2 Stadium.

The roughly 6,000-square-foot expansion will include two to three pickleball courts, food trucks, an indoor and an outdoor bar, a fenced-in dog park and a play area for kids. Bouldin Acres' co-owner told the ABJ that the layout of the new location will be similar to that of its current location at 2027 S. Lamar Blvd.

Kerbey Lane Café was initially set to build on the West Braker Lane site and had signed a ground lease back in 2018. But Bouldin Acres ended up taking over the site, according to the ABJ.

Construction on the new location should be complete in February or March.
