By now, Texans receiving unemployment were supposed to be conducting three work searches per week in order to claim benefit payments.
The Texas Workforce Commission said it was reinstating the work search requirement in November, after having it suspended since April due to the pandemic.
But it turns out, depending on your county of residence, you may have to do a lower number of searches or not do any job hunts at all.
As COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations spike in many parts of Texas, some local workforce boards have chosen to reduce or remove the work search requirement.
Local boards determine the number required based on "labor market conditions" for their area, according to the Texas Workforce Commission.
So the count differs by county, but could change as local conditions also change.
Here's a look at a number of North Texas counties that are not requiring any searches:

- Denton
- Ellis
- Kaufman
- Hood
- Hunt
- Johnson
- Parker
- Rockwall
- Tarrant
- Wise
