In a tweet that is making the rounds on Austin Twitter feeds Thursday, a photo shows a confederate panel at the University of Texas at Austin with fresh spray paint that spells out, "Black Lives Matter."

The photo was taken near the Littlefield Fountain in the South Mall of campus off of East 21st Street. KVUE called the UT Police Department who said that the spray paint had been reported, but as of about 10:30 a.m., was unsure whether it had been removed yet.

The photo was posted at around 10 a.m. to Instagram by user @villaloboslucha. A different user then retweeted the photo, which circulated around local media:

One of KVUE's Instagram followers later shared a photo of crews cleaning off the spray paint:

The photo comes in the wake of two controversial fatal officer-involved shootings of two black men in the United States.

Alton Sterling was selling CDs outside of a convenience store in Baton Rouge, Louisiana when he was shot dead. Philando Castile from Minnesota was fatally shot during a traffic stop for a broken tail light. The woman who shot the Facebook live video of Castile's shooting said he was reaching for his identification in his wallet and the officer thought he was reaching for a gun.
