As the Armadillo Christmas Bazaar gets ready to kick into full swing this week, one man is hoping to take all the stress out of visiting it.
We first introduced you to Brian Hill back in June on his party boat on Lake Travis. He hosts cruises of 50+ people on the lake, but now that the weather has turned cooler, he's turning his sights to new adventures - like shopping.
"It's called the 'Tis the season' holiday shopping tour," Hill said. "We're gonna pick up everybody in a luxury charter bus and go from there."
Hill said they will have three tours on the 17th, from 12-5, 2-7 and 4-9pm.
Each tour costs $30 and pays for High Brew coffee on the bus, transportation to the "Brass Tap" in the domain where a meal will be served and then a ride down to the Armadillo Bazaar afterwards.
"Think of it as kind of taking the hassle out of shopping and making it a relaxing process," Hill said, "rather than dealing with traffic and parking and driving through the mess that Austin is sometimes."
And, in the Holiday spirit, Hill is giving 50-percent of the proceeds to homeless organizations in the city and to Austin Pets Alive.
"Just want to give back," Hill said. "Lots of people are out in the cold that don't have a lot or a family to go home to for the holidays. Thought it would be great to buy them some food, blankets - and whatever they need with some of the proceeds"
Hill said the tour is just part of his future plans for making fun tours in the Austin area. In addition to his party boat business , Premier Party Cruises, Hill has started "Funday Austin" to start creating chartered tours through the region.
He said he will keep running the boat during summer months, but wants to help more people have fun in more places in Austin during the rest of the year as well.
