Find your 'furrever' friend this Valentine's Day weekend at these Austin-area shelters' events

Several Austin-area animal shelters are holding special adoption events this Valentine's Day weekend.

AUSTIN, Texas — While Valentine's Day may be over, love is still in the air. Several Austin-area animal shelters are holding special Valentine's Day weekend adoption events this weekend.

Austin Animal Center

The Austin Animal Center (AAC) is hosting an "Adopt Love" event that began on Feb. 13 and will go until Feb. 16. 

If you're looking to adopt a new furry companion, AAC is waiving the adoption fees for all of its animals this weekend.

PAWS Shelter of Central Texas

From 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, PAWS is hosting its Final Rose Ceremony adoption center, featuring adoption specials and free beer from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Dripping Springs Campus.

According to the event's Facebook page, adopters will enter a draw for a chance at a $75, $50, $25 or waived adoption fee on all cats and dogs.

Austin Humane Society

The Austin Humane Society has partnered with b8ta to hold its "Furrever Yours Pet Adoption Event."

The event will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday at the b8ta store in the Domain NORTHSIDE.

You'll be able to play with dogs and cats and potentially take one home. The event will feature live demos, giveaways and treats for both you and the furry friends.

Austin Pets Alive!

Austin Pets Alive! has partnered with Bakery Lorraine this Valentine's weekend to host an adoption event at the bakery's Domain NORTHSIDE location.

The event will last from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and prospective "fur-baby" owners can come and play with puppies while enjoying a sweet treat from the bakery.

Pet owners are encouraged to bring their current pets by to get a free dog treat from the Woof Gang Bakery
