Send a love letter from the Valentine mailbox in Downtown San Marcos

Each letter sent through the mailbox will be stamped "Sent from Kissing Alley."

SAN MARCOS, Texas — Want to send a sweet message to your sweetie? Downtown San Marcos is the perfect place to do that.

This week, the San Marcos Main Street Program kicked off its annual "Love Letters from Downtown" campaign by opening a special Valentine's Day mailbox in Kissing Alley. The mailbox will stay open through Valentine's Day.

In order for a letter to be mailed, you must properly address it, apply postage and drop it into the mailbox. Once the Main Street Program receives your letter, it will be stamped "Sent from Kissing Alley." Anyone can use the mailbox and there is no limit to the number of Valentines someone may send.

“There’s no holiday better suited for a hallmarked card from Kissing Alley than Valentine’s Day,” Downtown Coordinator Josie Falletta said. “We’re excited to share the romance and fun of a stroll through Downtown San Marcos with the world, one Valentine at a time.”

The mailbox will be open until Valentine's Day, but the Main Street Program encourages you to send your letters by Wednesday. There's no guarantee that letters will be received on time if they are dropped in the mailbox after Wednesday.
