Round Rock Express, St. David's donating special baseballs to babies born during baseball season

You're never too young to be a Round Rock Express fan!

ROUND ROCK, Texas — The Round Rock Express will kick off their 20th anniversary season next Thursday – and this year, they're hoping to recruit some very new fans.

To celebrate the season, the team is partnering with St. David's HealthCare to give all parents of babies born during baseball season at St. David's Round Rock Medical Center a commemorative Express and St. David's-branded baseball with their newborn's footprints.

"We are thrilled to once again partner with St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center to give new parents in Round Rock a priceless gift from their hometown team,” Express Senior Vice President of Marketing Laura Fragoso said. “As we enter our 20th anniversary season, we can’t wait to meet our future Express fans. We hope this can be the first of many wonderful memories that the Round Rock Express and St. David’s make with these families."

This isn't the first time Round Rock Express and St. David's have teamed up. Last fall, the two partnered to give all newborn babies their first Express ballcaps and "certificates of fandom." And in 2017, the Express and St. David's unveiled the "Lactation Station," a private, air-conditioned room for breastfeeding mothers located in the left-field corner of Dell Diamond.

"We are proud to continue our partnership with the Express and bring joy to families during baseball season,” Jeremy Barclay, Chief Executive Officer of St. David's Round Rock Medical Center, said. “Welcoming a new baby is an exciting time for any family, and we are looking forward to making it that much more special with these mementos. It just so happens there are two perfectly sized patches on a baseball for a newborn’s footprints."

The Express plays the New Orleans Baby Cakes (a Miami Marlins affiliate) on Thursday, April 4. Their first game at Dell Diamond will be Tuesday, April 9, kicking off a five-game series against the Nashville Sounds (a Texas Rangers affiliate).

Single-game tickets, season memberships and flex plan ticket packages are on sale now.
