'Pup-tials' for a cause: Two dachshunds get married in Georgetown

The event featured a DJ, professional photography and even ‘pup-cakes’ and a wedding cake.

GEORGETOWN, Texas — Two very adorable Central Texas dachshunds were married in Georgetown on Saturday morning.

The "pup-tials" were part of an adoption event and fundraiser, hosted by pet boutique Pupology, Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas and the Georgetown Animal Shelter.

The arranged marriage between Scout and Eli took place at 11:30 a.m. by the Pupology “I woof you so much” fence.

It featured a DJ, professional photography and even "pup-cakes" and a wedding cake.

“Two dogs got married today here in Georgetown,” wrote photographer Ron Parks on Facebook. “I’ve photographed 1,400+ weddings in the last 32 years, but this one was.....different !?!?!?”

Dogs were available for adoption from both rescue groups.

The event on Saturday also showcased local pet food and product vendors.
