AUSTIN — A heartwarming video of swimmers encouraging a girl to jump off of a diving board at one of Austin's most famous pools for the first time is sure to brighten your day.
The video, which was posted on Facebook, captures the girl making her way toward the end of the diving board at Barton Springs Pool. But instead of instantly jumping off like those before her, she stops in her tracks.
However, her hesitation is met with cheers of encouragement. Someone even leaps in and swims to the edge of the board to help ease her nerves.
When she finally hops in, the area erupts into cheers.
One person commented on the Facebook post that this embodies the “soul of the city.” With nearly 120,000 views and 2,000 shares on Facebook, it seems as if the swimmers aren’t the only ones cheering her on.
