New drive-in theater opens in Hutto just in time for Valentine's Day

The theater's winter season will run through Feb. 29.

HUTTO, Texas — Hutto residents now have a new way to watch films.

The City of Hutto celebrated the grand opening of its new drive-in theater – The Globe Drive-In. The theater is located at the Brushy Creek Amphitheater at 1001 County Road 137.

Here's how it works:

  • There are several ticket types you can buy online and you will need both a car slot and a general admission ticket for every person in your party for each movie you would like to see.
  • You will need to choose a car slot based on your car's size. A small slot is for sedans and smaller, while the large slots are for SUVs, trucks, vans and Jeeps. The car slot is good for both movies.

The City said on Twitter it is exciting to welcome the drive-in to town.

The grand opening comes just in time for Valentine's Day, so if you're still looking for date ideas, you may want to check this out. On Valentine's Day, the drive-in will be showing "The Princess Bride" and "LaLa Land."

"Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" and "Back to the Future" will be showing Friday, and tickets are already sold out. But tickets are still available for "The Princess Bride" and "Jurassic Park" showings on Saturday.

The theater's winter season will run through Feb. 29. You can purchase tickets online by clicking here and be sure to arrive early if you want a spot in the front.
