AUSTIN, Texas — Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton and her daughter, Chelsea Clinton, came to Austin this weekend to discuss the book they wrote together, "The Book of Gutsy Women: Favorite Stories of Courage and Resilience."
The event, hosted by BookPeople, was held at the Riverbend Centre on Sunday, Nov. 3, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Doors opened at 2 p.m. and seating was general admission – first come, first served.
The Clintons were in conversation with Cecile Richards, the former president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America and the Planned Parenthood Action Fund. She's also the daughter of former Texas Governor Ann Richards.

The conversation was a "discussion on the women throughout history who have had the courage to stand up to the status quo, ask hard questions and get the job done."
"Women and girls across America are leading the resistance to turning back the clock, stripping away our rights, undermining the rule of law and so much else," said Hillary Clinton, the former Secretary of State. “It is a time for people to ask themselves a question like, what would I have done during the civil rights movement? What would I have done during the suffragist movement? What would I have done if I had faced a challenge of whatever kind that really put me to the test?”
Tickets were available via the official Eventbrite link. They were $40 plus taxes and fees and included a copy of "The Book of Gutsy Women."
Books were not available for pickup at BookPeople prior to the event. BookPeople said if you purchased a ticket for the event, but were unable to attend, they would hold a copy of the book for you at BookPeople for up to 30 days after Nov. 3.
"The Book of Gutsy Women" is the first book Secretary Clinton and Chelsea have written together.
