AUSTIN, Texas — Sam Searles joined KVUE as a digital producer in September 2022 and is so excited about being back in her favorite city in the best state!
Born in Portland, Oregon, but raised in Austin with two Canadian parents, she had an interesting mix of all the best that the South and North had to give her growing up!
She graduated summa cum laude from Texas State University in December 2021 with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in electronic media and mass communications with a focus in digital media, as well as a minor in exercise and sports science.
After graduation, she quickly moved to Tyler to work at KVUE's sister station KYTX CBS19, where she held the same position. There, she had the opportunity to dive into her love of digital content and cover stories that made her heart sing. Such stories included highlighting the local Jewish community and how to better help improve the environment.
When she’s not writing and drinking coffee in the office, you can catch her hiking around Town Lake with her dad, snuggling her cat or powerlifting at a local gym.
