AUSTIN, Texas — Rick Grinstead is KVUE’s Director of Technology, a position he assumed after a decade of training as Assistant Director of Technology. He came to KVUE after eight years as a maintenance engineer at sister station WCNC in Charlotte. There, he won a MidSouth Regional Emmy in Engineering for Road Trip, a month-long traveling show through the Carolinas.
Rick got his start in television at NBC News Channel, the network’s affiliate feed service, providing on-site technical support for events like the ‘96 Olympics and Republican National Convention, the OJ Simpson trial, two presidential inaugurations, the Super Bowl and the first Summit of the Americas.
Rick graduated from the University of South Carolina in Media Arts. He is a member of the Austin chapter of the Society of Broadcast Engineers, serving two years as its chairman.
