When I spotted this heart-shaped cactus, it brought a big smile to my face. I found myself taking several photos of it, intrigued by its almost-perfect shape. I may have never discovered this wonderful gift of nature if not for a butterfly which led me to it. I had been taking photos of plants and flowers in our back yard when my pursuit of the perfect butterfly shot took me through the back gate into the overgrown "wilderness" behind our house.
Although I took this photo a few months ago, a quick check this morning confirmed its quiet presence, still intact and more beautiful than ever. Perhaps it's a gentle reminder to cherish the gift of love.
