In today’s economy it’s never too early to start planning for your future. The Austin Young Chamber of Commerce is hosting a career fair for Citizen School programs in the Austin area. AYC volunteers will each host a career booth, representing their profession (engineer, lawyer, editor, real estate, etc). Citizen School students will visit the booths and have on-the-spot interviews based on specific questions they have practiced the previous week.

Citizen Schools partners with middle schools to expand the learning day for low-income children across the country. Since 1995, students at Citizen Schools have developed the academic and leadership skills they need to succeed in high school, college, the workplace and civic life. In Austin, the Citizen School program is active at both Kealing and Bedichek Middle Schools. Members of the Austin Young Chamber of Commerce will donate their time in a series of career-focused events for Citizen School students.

The Austin Young Chamber of Commerce’s mission is to develop and connect young professionals in Austin to create business, community and individual success. The AYC is one of the fastest growing organizations in Austin growing to almost 400 members since its launch in August 2009.
