A couple of years ago I posted a photo of this rat snake's mom or dad under my username,that is still archived.I measure him at about 3 ft.
Yesterday evening I almost stepped on this snake and its sibling after seeing the mom or dad earlier in the day in the yard now at about 6 1/2 ft. Needless to say we do not have a mice problem and these snakes are beneficial, however this particular one I suspect is after some mud swallow eggs in production in a nest above this window. Something different every day to behold living in the country in Caldwell County.
