These are photos of the June 2012 transit of Venus. The photos were taken by Josh Kirkpatrick as Ben Sweat and his son Joseph projected the image of the Sun from a telescope. The photos were taken in our front yard in North Austin, several of our neighbors came to view the Transit as well.
To do this we used an old telescope to project the image onto a piece of cardboard. Interestingly the other piece of cardboard used to make the shade effect was from the same box we used to view the Partial Solar Eclipse a couple of weeks ago.
