Sunset on May 20th, 2012, brought the opportunity to view a partial solar eclipse to Austin. This view over the rooftops of the Davenport Ranch subdivision in West Austin was shot from the base of the KVUE-TV transmission tower. Shot with a Canon EOS 40D, Sigma 50-500mm lens (which is effectively an 80-800mm lens with the camera's 1.6x crop factor), ISO 200, f/27, 1/8000 sec., -2 stops exposure compensation. Shot in raw format and processed in Adobe Lightroom 3, with another -4 stops of exposure compensation. The sun is very bright even with a moon in the way!
