My brother and I went to Pedernales Falls State Park this afternoon to see what kind of impact the rains have had. We got to the river at 4 pm and it didn't look too bad. All of a sudden and without any warning, we saw the water start to rise and come over the rocks. We grabbed our fishing gear and started to move out. As you can see in the before and after pics, the river rose quite a bit. If you look closely in the before pic, you can see two fishermen that were caught off guard as well. They had to swim to get out. Fortunately we were close enough to this side to stay dry. Also attached is a video of the falls after we were out of harms way. Always remember, you never turn your back on Mother Nature.
