My husband is a volunteer firefighter in Granite Shoals. We were in Austin shopping when the tones dropped for the Spicewood fire. We began our journey home so he could join in the fight only to find 71 closed. We thought 620 to 1431 would be the fastest way and we ran into the Mansfield Dam fire. We finally got home by going Hamilton Pool Road... It was closed from the Dripping Springs fire after we got home. I took the pics along the way and have several more and some videos. My husband made it to the fire at Spicewood around 8 and stayed on scene till 4:30, slept till 11:00 and was toned out for the 343 fire in Smithwick. He just finished there and it is 9:45.
