It's even too hot and dry for the grasshoppers! They too are looking for some shade. They are hanging out on the shady side of the fence T-posts and electrical pole. Not to mention that they have already devoured what little grass was in the pasture! Apparently, the fungii and bacteria that normally keep their numbers in check die off in drought conditions and allow the grasshoppers to appear in record numbers. And so it's a one-two punch for the cattle ranchers and farmers. Please keep praying for rain.
